Our favorite fresh salad is at the table again. Spring is the season of fresh vegetables. We know that the industry meets the needs by being sprayed with pesticide production and other harmful chemicals that protect against pests and make the products to grow faster. The chemicals used in these cases are often extremely harmful. Therefore we must to know how to wash the fresh fruits and vegetables efficiently.
Wash your hands before and after handling with the products!
It is very important not to pollute the products with the bacteria from our hands. Therefore we should wash our hands with warm water and soap for at least 30 seconds. It is advisable to wash your hands once again after you have prepared the salad.
This also stands when we prepare fruit. One of the most common mistakes that we almost all do is when we peel, for example orange, we immediately begin to eat it. In that case we do not realize that we have touched the bark with the same hands. For that reason, we should wash well the fruits before we peel them. In that way we will not transfer the harmful substances. This applies to kiwifruit, apples, tangerines, lemons, cucumbers and all fruits and vegetables that are consumed mainly peeled.
Remove the rotten parts!
On these sections, more harmful chemicals are presented than on the smooth and healthy parts of the products. Therefore it is better to cut all unnecessary and rotten parts and throw them.
Wash them under running water. Do not just soak them!
Widespread mistake is to soak the salad in order to remove the harmful chemicals. Do not make this mistake, because it that way, you only soak the salads in water in which the chemicals dissolve and do not disappear.
Brush the products with a rough surface!
This stands for potatoes, cucumber, kiwi, melons and all other fruits and vegetables with an uneven surface. They should be thoroughly brushed before processing. In these products, bacteria are retained, so you need to be very careful.
